New Class added to April 19, 2025 Event

New class at MRP starting April 19, 2025 event. The class is called Novice Street.
The establishment of this class is intended to introduce novice drivers to the sport of NHRA drag racing, with a focus on safety within a controlled environment and understanding of NHRA bracket racing. The class will offer Novice racers a better opportunity to race others with the same skill level giving them a better chance of going rounds to get better.
Racer Fee: $25, with no payout and a trophy awarded to the winner.
To qualify as a novice, drivers must have less than two years of racing experience and no prior wins at MRP. A valid driver's license is required; drivers under 18 must provide a Parent/Legal Guardian Approval Signature on the Driver's Waiver of Liability.
Vehicles must meet the following criteria: street-legal; driven to the track; passing tech inspection; currently registered; insured; safety-checked; and equipped with DOT tires (excluding slicks and street slicks). Helmet required. Vehicles with times of 14.0 seconds or slower are not required to have a current Snell-certified helmet. A maximum speed of 134 mph and 10-second times apply.
All NHRA General rules will be enforced.
Drivers who achieve two wins are reclassified and must participate in a different expert class moving forward.
Class participation is limited to 16 vehicles. Qualifying is based off of best reaction time.
